How To Help
How you can help

Since 1991 YACHANA (formally FUNEDESIN) has had many triumphs in improving the standard of living, and the protection and conservation of the Ecuadorian Amazon. We have created two for-profit organizations, Yachana Lodge and Yachana Gourmet, whose proceeds support the work of the YACHANA FOUNDATION and enable us to continue making progress in providing education to the indigenous and mestizo of the area. While these companies help the Foundation continue to thrive, it is the generous donations and support of individuals such as you that truly makes a difference.

If you’re interested in helping YACHANA change the socio-economic realities of the Ecuadorian Amazon, here is a list of some of the many ways in which you can help the people and habitats of the Amazon Rainforest.

Become a member

The Yachana membership is an easy way for you to actively support rainforest conservation and to improve the standard of living of its people. As a way to thank our members, you will receive a transferable 10% discount for two people to stay at our award-winning Yachana Lodge! Click here to join online or print out a mail-in application.

Donate Now

Making a donation will enable us to continue our work within the Ecuadorian Amazon. Without your support we would be unable to continue providing the valuable education to Amazon youth through the Yachana Technical High School. To make a donation today, please visit our donation page. Our students pay $40 per year registration for their education which is all they can afford. We provide professors, housing in the boarding school, and food. Our cost per student per year is $1,200! We need help to cover this difference. Please think about supporting a student for a year.

Adopt a Tree

YACHANA has been working since the year 2000 to establish cacao as the principal income producer for small farmers in Ecuador’s northern Amazon provinces. By adopting a chocolate tree you are helping support the agricultural education component of the High School and our agro forestry extension program to farmers from the region. For more information please visit our Adopt a Tree page.

Adopt an Acre

YACHANA has purchased more than 4,300 acres of rainforest to date. By adopting an acre you are helping to protect a rapidly diminishing part of our earth’s natural biodiversity. With these funds we are able to purchase and protect our forest. For more information visit our Adopt an Acre page.
